The traditional birth attendant, known as a dhai, calls for garlic and burning chillies. She wants Morjina to retch, in a desperate attempt to strengthen her contractions.
Once the baby, a little girl, has arrived, the dhai starts pushing on Morjina's tummy, first with her hands, then with her feet. She was trying to deliver the placenta as quickly as possible.
In this case, the dhai, Musammat Sobura, started to force Morjina's hair down her throat, causing her to retch and sweat. Eventually the placenta came away and was buried next to her bed, deep in the mud floor.

Keeping in mind the literacy rate of Pakistan, i believe that this would also be happening in our rural areas.

In this picture, which is taken at Gulberg No.1 Peshawar, you can easily see a big trash can but people instead of dumping inside it, throw the trash on the road.
I wonder when these people will learn to live.I know it is becoming difficult for everyone to survive in this country but one should play a role, whatever it is possible,in its betterment.

I am feeling very proud to announce that our leaders have just introduced a new game, on international scale, which is called as 'Hide & Seek'.In this game one leader goes & hides in a foreign country and the other leader tries to finds him.
Few days back Mr.Zardari went to Dubai who was then followed up by Mr.Nawaz Sharif. And now yesterday Mr.Zardari went to England to chase Mr.Nawaz over there.
The main reason of playing this game is that they want to forget their country people and their problems like electricity, wheat, water, education, health, law etc etc and always trying to extend their game by postponing the real issues.
Very Sad :(
I wonder why these people cannot solve their problems in their own country for once & all instead of playing 'Hide & Seek'.

Fatima is a young girl whose heart wants to enjoy
every breath that she takes,
every sight that she experiences,
every edible that she swallows,
every sound that she listens,
every object that she caresses,
but unfortunately she cannot,
as she is a 14 years old girl who has got ESRD (End Stage Renal Disease) which in simple words means that her kidneys are 0% functioning. So in order to remove nitrogenous waste products from her blood, she should receive 2 sessions of hemodialysis twice a week, each for 4 hrs.
But the cost of each dialysis session is Rs.1500 (Rs.12000/month).And his father gets a daily wage of Rs.300 (Rs.9000/month).So being unable to afford this, he cries and weeps to everyone whenever his daughter needs dialysis.
What one should learn is that everyone should Thank the Almighty God for each & every organ that he has given us. And not to waste money in visiting expensive hotels, buying new wardrobe, purchasing luxurious cars & acquiring elegant houses.
Instead one should regularly visit the hospitals and try to manage the expenditures of the poor people and to also give them moral support.
What you will get in response will be infinite no. of prays and a beautiful life in this world & in the next one.

Telenor has launched a service by the name of Tele Doctor (# 1911).This service provides customers with medical advices & opinions from the doctors available online for 24 hours.
The website states:
Telenor TeleDoctor will revolutionize the medical industry by eliminating any doctor patient barriers that might exist due to language, lack of education, lack of mobility, etc.Being a Doctor myself, I am totally against this service as first of all there is no replacement of being examined by a professional.
Secondly, one does not know the qualification of the person sitting at the other end. He might be a customer service representative advising medications on his own.
Thirdly, its not justice that a telecom company, who just wants to earn money, plays with the health of the nation who already is entangled in the problems of water, flour, electricity, law etc etc.

"Salam,
How are you,Brother! I think you still remember me somewhere in your Grey matter. How is everyone on your side?
Me and all my country fellows are going through a very hard period.Last night three explosions occurred. One in ANP's political address in charsadda and two others in a video center & a barber's shop in peshawar.Everyone over here is very much depressed.
There are problems of electricity, gas, water, food, health, education and law everywhere.
The only way i think, to get out of this is that everyone should accept his responsibility and do the best he can.
May Allah Help All The Muslims of the World,Ameen!
Take Care.
Allah Hafiz."
I wrote this email to my friend,Mahmood Aslam, who is an engineer living in Canada basically belonging to Haripur,NWFP.

Hundreds of medicinal plants are at risk of extinction, threatening the discovery of future cures for disease, according to experts.
Over 50% of prescription drugs are derived from chemicals first identified in plants.
But the Botanic Gardens Conservation International said many were at risk from over-collection and deforestation.
Researchers warned the cures for things such as cancer and HIV may become "extinct before they are ever found".
